About the Role:
Washler Garbage & Recycling is looking for a reliable and hardworking Roll Off Driver to join our team in Garrett, IN! This is a great opportunity to get behind the wheel of a well-maintained truck and play a vital role in keeping our community clean and running smoothly.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a roll off truck (Class A or B) to deliver, place, and retrieve roll off containers at customer sites
- Follow daily route schedules efficiently and accurately
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations
- Communicate professionally with customers on-site regarding container placement and service needs
- Maintain accurate records of pickups, deliveries, and mileage logs
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal transportation and safety regulations
- Keep truck clean, report mechanical issues, and assist with general yard duties as needed
Requirements:
- Valid Class A or Class B CDL required
- Previous roll off, waste, or heavy truck driving experience preferred
- Clean driving record and ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet route deadlines
- Dependable, punctual, and professional with a strong work ethic
- Ability to perform physical tasks including operating hydraulic controls and occasional lifting
